Testing telemetry and data acquisition systems for use by Formula One motor racing teams.
April 1998 - March 1999 : Protechnic Computers Ltd, Cambridge
Maintaining Unix based systems, for several health trusts across Britain and Ireland, being used to administer patients. Performing releases, remote maintenance and providing telephone support.
April 1986 - April 1998 : Anglian Water
January 1996 - April 1998 : Telemetry Support Engineer.
Providing 24 hour support to ensure the ARTS2000 telemetry (remote monitoring) system functioned to specified service levels. The system ran on seven DEC Alpha servers, and several hundred Windows 95 & Windows NT clients. It monitored thousands of Anglian Water's treatment works and pumping stations. Also providing user support, user training and documenting new procedures.
January 1994 - January 1996 : Secondment to Logica, Leatherhead.
Joint venture scheme to produce the ARTS2000 telemetry system. Year 1 was spent designing, planning and writing factory acceptance procedures. Year 2 was spent programming, in C, tools to convert data from the PDP based telemetry systems to the new format required on the Alphas.
March 1988 - January 1994 : Senior Engineer Telemetry
